Scholarships & Payment Plans

We at Olympia Community Sailing believe that sailing should be accessible to everyone and are committed to serving everyone in our community regardless of income or background.

OCS provides partial and full scholarships for students participating in our Race Teams, and we partner with local agencies to provide scholarships for students attending our summer camps and learn to sail classes.

Financial assistance will be awarded based on available resources and funds.

Questions about our scholarships or payment plan options can be directed to
Executive Director Sarah Hanavan (executivedirector@olympiacommunitysailing.org)

Scholarships for Learn to Sail Camps

Our summer camps are run through Olympia Parks and Recreation. Students that are a part of our summer camps can apply for scholarships through Olympia Parks and Rec (see link below).

Please note: registration is still required for scholarship applicants or recipients - the application for or receipt of a scholarship does not reserve your spot in a class!

Scholarship funds do run out, so applying to Parks and Rec earlier in the year will give you a higher chance of receiving funds.

Scholarships for Race Programs & Clinics

OCS offers scholarships for sailors to participate on our Race Teams and our clinics. We offer 25-100% scholarships to eligible sailors, as well as provide gear assistance.

Payment plans are also available for all sailors whether or not they apply for or receive a scholarship.

We recognize that sailing has historically been exclusive to sailors of various backgrounds including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and low-income individuals. We at OCS are striving to change this, and welcome sailors of all backgrounds to join our program and enjoy the benefits of being on the water.

Please submit scholarship and payment plan applications to Executive Director Sarah Hanavan (executivedirector@olympiacommunitysailing.org). Please allow at least two weeks to process. OCS is a small organization with few year-round employees!

Applications are confidential.
